Intersections 10th Anniversary Awards Gala
When I think about the last ten years of my vocational life and the work we’ve done together, I am deeply passionate about, and proud of, the accomplishments that we’ve had.
—Rev. Robert Chase, Founding Director Intersections
The Intersections Tenth Anniversary Gala was an evening of song, celebration, and inspiration. In addition to honoring four incredible individuals and one company, the organization wanted to inspire the gathered guests with their transformative work. Intersections International is a global not-for-profit that seeks to unite people across lines of difference through art, dialogue and action. Their signature projects include Believe Out Loud which bridges the divides between the Church and the LGBT community; Service Together which bridges divides between Veterans and Civilians; and US-Pakistan Interreligious Consortium which seeks to increase cooperation and understanding between the United States and Pakistan. Below is an animated timeline of their work.
We worked with Intersections to develop an inspiring, informational program. The honorees included His Excellency Kairat Umarov, TDBank, Riaz Siddiqi, Wendy C. McClinton, Randall Miller and Bibi Russell. Performances throughout the evening included a Native American drumming group; military veteran/singer-songwriter Brandon Mills; and spoken word artist Timothy DuWhite.
The evening was capped off with a moving tribute to Founding Director Robert Chase, who served the organization for ten years and was set to retire in the weeks following the event.
In addition to creative development, direction, and production of the live elements of the show, we also produced a number of video elements, including a walk-in video featuring the honorees, an animated timeline showcasing the organization’s 10 years of good work, a video highlighting the relationship with Kazakhstan and the incredible interfaith work happening in that country, a retrospective of the UPIC project that made use of footage collected over the past seven years, and a surprise video tribute to Bob Chase that was introduced from the stage by his 10 year old granddaughter. These videos can be seen on our YouTube page here. And you can view the full program here.
We also coordinated and produced a live stream of the event. When the program paused for the guests in Cipriani to have their dinners, the viewers at home watched a custom curated selection of archival videos of Intersections’ work over the years.
Incidentally, Bob Chase, happens to be Kierra Parlagreco’s father. So this project was particularly close to our hearts.
